The Lovelace Book Award program has begun! Students in grades 3-8 are introduced to the nominated books and given the opportunity to read them, take AR tests, and complete a review form to earn a non-uniform coupon. On April 25th 2010 we will find out what books students across the state picked as the winning book for each division. To find out more information on the award please visit the Maud Hart Lovelace website.

Wrapping up the Lovelace book talks

In the next few weeks we will finish all of our book talks covering the books nominated for the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award. I am happy to report there are many students reading the books. Many of the books have waiting lists. To speed up the process please feel free to use the public libraries to get the books even quicker than waiting for ours to be available. Students have until March 23rd to read at least 3 books to be eligible to vote for the award and attend the party.
