SEVENTH: Practice reading pages 66-67 of the QUE BIEN textbook. Wednesday I will check your pronunciation.
FIFTH: Remember to study for Wednesday's quiz which will cover the first column of page 25 of your textbook.
SIXTH: Study "los pasatiempos" on page 90 of the textbook. We will have a brief quiz on them on Wednesday.
SEVENTH: Monday's quiz will cover the questions "¿cómo se dice?" and "¿cómo se escribe?. Make sure to review the name of the letters of the Spanish alphabet as I will spell out words for you to write.
FIFTH: Make sure to turn your "dictado" based paragraph in this week if you didn't do it last week.
SIXTH: Find five "cognados". Be creative!
SEVENTH: Read pages 14-15 of textbook. We will have a short quiz on Wednesday.
FOURTH: Friday you will have the quiz on "las profesiones". You can start studying the handouts that were given on Friday.
SIXTH: Write your own three sentences similar to the ones we did in class. Remember to use a -AR verb.
SEVENTH: Quiz on colors and telling time (if you need a refresher on the colors, scroll down to October where you will find them listed).
FOURTH: On Friday you will have a quiz on "las profesiones" based on the handout given in class on Monday. ¡Buena suerte!
FIFTH: Complete exercise 1 from page 20 of your textbook. Instead of using your classmates, ask your family members. Remember to tally the results with a chart in Spanish to find out which month has the most birthdays.
SIXTH: We continue practicing -AR verbs! Please complete five new conjugations by Wednesday.
SEVENTH: Read pages 76-78 of your textbook. On Monday we will learn to tell time.
FIFTH: Do exercises 3,5,6,7and 8 from page 19 of your textbook. We will correct them and grade them.
SIXTH: Conjugate five more -AR verbs and also translate the meanings. You can find these verbs in the textbook or your dictionary.
SEVENTH: Monday you will have your first review quiz covering the months, days of the week and numbers 1-31. Buena suerte!!

FIFTH and SIXTH: Finish the crucigramas at home. I will collect them and grade them.
EIGHTH: Look over your menu and decide what you will order on Wednesday. You will share that in Spanish with yor classmates. Also, make sure to return the permission slip for the field trip.
This week we will learn about "Los Reyes Magos" and the traditional celebrations of the "Epifania" in Spanish speaking countries.
FOURTH: We will be finishing performing dialogs and continue to sing some Villancicos.
SIXTH: Those who did not take the quiz last week will do it this Wednesday.
EIGHTH: We will finish the dialogs and also sing some Villancicos.
THIRD: Mrs. Jandl's class will take the "days of the week" quiz on Wednesday since they had no time to take it last week.
FOURTH: You will have time to practice your dialogs on Monday. Friday you will begin performing them in front of the class. Remember that you will be graded for pronunciation and fluency.
FIFTH: Study "los dias de la semana" and "los meses" for a quiz on Wednesday. I will be grading for spelling.
SIXTH: Remember to conduct your "encuesta" at home and to study the food vocabulary we learned last week.
EIGHTH: Monday we will begin performing dialogs in front of the class. I will give you sometime to practice with your partner beforehand.
THIRD: Third graders will have their first practice quiz on "the days of the week" this Friday. Most children are able to recite them but have a little more trouble when it comes to spelling them. Therefore, we will be concentrating on the writing part for the quiz so that they get practicing for when they are Fourth graders! A handout was given on Wednesday to prepare for it.
FOURTH: This Friday Fourth graders will be working on dialogs that they will perform in front of the class hopefully on Friday the 11th. Please check this website to confirm this date next week. Students will be graded on fluency and pronunciation skills.
EIGHTH: Finish your dialogs for Monday. You will have class time to practice them with your partner before your performance in front of the class.
FOURTH: Friday you will have a quiz on "los meses del año" (months).
FIFTH: Do three ¿cómo se dice? flashcards and three ¿cómo se escribe? flashcards. Make sure to bring them to class on Wednesday because we will be playing a game with them. Refer to pages 13-15 of textbooks if you have questions.
SIXTH: Complete exercises from pages 80-81 of your textbook. This assignment is a little challenging so just try to do the best you can and use your dictionaries when needed. We will review these in class on Wednesday.
EIGHTH: We are practicing how tell time by answering the following questions: what time is it when you:
get up, have breakfast, catch the bus, have English class, have recess, have lunch, have Spanish class, return home from school, do your homework, have supper, go to bed, and now when you are doing this homework?
FIFTH: Finish exercises 3-7 from page 12 of your textbook and be prepared to turn in your flashcards.
SIXTH: El Colón is what country's currency? Find out!
EIGHTH: Review quiz on colors, days of the week and months.
October 12 marks the anniversary of Columbus' trips. This week students will learn about this event.
FOURTH: No class on Friday, no quiz this week !!
FIFTH: Quiz on vocabulary covering pages 6, 7 & 9 of textbook.
SIXTH: Quiz covering -ar verbs. Make sure to know the -AR verbs in your textbook.
EIGHTH: Do a little research and answer the questions: ¿Quién es Cristobal Colón? and ¿Qué viajes hizo?
FOURTH: Quiz time again: study the vocabulary handed out in class on Monday (numbers 1-20)
FIFTH: Do flashcards for vocabulary on page 7. Also, write a dialog between two people based on page 9 of your textbook.
SIXTH: Choose five "-ar verbs" from the list on your textbook and conjugate them.
EIGHTH: No homework for Monday but you can start reviewing numbers 1-100 for the quiz on Wednesday.
FIFTH grade learned about cognates last week. For this Wednesday they need to make 20-30 vocabulary flashcards based on the cognates from pages 5, 6 and 7 of their textbook. These words look and sound a lot like their English counterpart and should be easy to remember. Please use your diccionarios if you need help figuring out the meanings.
SIXTH needs to read página 72 and work on questions 1 & 2. I will collect them and grade them, so don't forget to turn them in!!
EIGHTH worked hard on a "dictado" and for Monday's homework they need to translate it. Sam will be in charge of the minuto cultural.
FOURTH: Forth graders will be practicing their reading and listening comprenhension skills this week. On Friday they will have a vocabulary on the following words, which will come home on Monday:silla, mesa, tijeras,libro, lapiz, borrador, ventana, cuaderno, papel, puerta, pluma, escritorio.
FIFTH: Read pages 4-5 of textbook and do questions A & D.
SIXTH AND EIGHTH: Study for a quiz on Personal Pronouns. Sixth graders, refer to the texbook, Eighth graders refer to your class notes. Michael will be in charge of the minuto cultural on Monday.
FOURTH GRADE: Your first spelling quiz will be this Friday. The following greetings will be included:Hola, Adios, Buenos dias, Buenas tardes, Buenas noches, Hasta manana.
FIFTH GRADE: Read pages XIV-3 of textbook.
Figure out the meaning of the textbook's title.
