POWS

Another POW is coming home today.  There were many great solutions to week 1 and I am looking forward to seeing the solutions to the Problem this week.  This stands for Problem of the Week.  This is a problem that is to be worked on independently by each student at home.  Our goal is for our students to learn to work and persevere on problems that take more time and thought than their daily homework.  We are interested in their thought processes more than the correct answers.  PLEASE encourage them to work independently and praise their efforts.  There is a board in the hallway to post any solutions to these problems. Solutions can be traced, taped together, drawn in a diagram or written out.  Time will be given to discuss solutions on Friday.  These problems will change weekly and will include different math skills each week.  Remember the thought process is much more important than the correct answer!

Information on the Biography Book Report will be coming home on Friday.  Please have your child bring in pencils and a box of kleenex.  We have depleted our supplies.  Thanks!!
